About this program

Provides reimbursement for costs of replacing or restoring water wells damaged by energy activities when negotiations with energy companies are unsuccessful.

Eligibility

Alberta landowners who suspect their well was damaged by energy activities, have unsuccessful settlement negotiations with the energy company, have contacted the AER to initiate an investigation, and have completed necessary restoration/replacement work prior to applying. Applications must be submitted within 2 years of the alleged damage occurrence.
